How EyeLock and Password Safe will help keep data and social media accounts secure

The device uses the user’s retinal eye imprint to access such sites as your Facebook account, eBay, Gmail, PayPal, and on-line banking and helps keep your Password Safe.

In addition to website password security EyeLock also works for other password protected applications. The advantage of EyeLock over other contemporary retinal scanners remains its portability. Simply plug it into the USB on a laptop to offer portable security. EyeLock will prove useful when travelling overseas or working from PCs without trusted anti-spyware security.

After initial installation the device will ask which Internet sites want iris protection. After confirmation the EyeLock will then capture the user’s iris print as its central security signature. Each time access to a protected site’s required, just simply hold the EyeLock wand to the eye for instant iris recognition.

Is it really unhackeable?

Hoyos claim the device is un-hackable yet hackers have always remained extremely resourceful in overcoming new challenges. Basic fingerprints have 18 unique points for identification yet the iris has over 2,000 such points offering increased robustness in establishing the identity of the user. In addition Hoyos have cleverly combined EyeLock with a unique key pass system working in conjunction with the iris scan. Each time a scan takes place a unique key gets generated providing an additional security layer. This key combines with the iris scan to allow the recognised user to enter the website or application. Each key’s unique and changes at the next log in.

I prefer using Password Safe as it's a simpler approach to storing passwords etc.

The cost of Eye-lock

The EyeLock will become widely available on the consumer market for a low price ensuring a feasible additional security tool to protect information. Preventing fraud, as well as loss of personal information, remains a necessity as more information passes through the Internet. 


An additional security layer, stronger than traditional passwords or existing biometric data, remains the perfect solution for increased Internet defence. Who is eligible to claim child tax credit in the UK

The credit exists to help support and maintain the economic wellbeing of family life. Recent changes in the UK Budget of 2014 have changed certain requirements in relation to this benefit. Countless sums of money remains left unclaimed each year, as people are unaware of their entitlements. You need to ascertain if you’re eligible to claim child tax credit benefit. Providing for you and your family remains an essential skill in this day-and-age.

Child tax credit is available to those people who are either working or not working. The payment is initiated through HMRC (Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs). The amount of benefit received is relative to your income, however even a full-time salary allows access to this benefit. You can claim child tax credit for each child you are responsible for.

You must be over 16 years old and responsible for one or more children. The definition of a child is under 16 years of age, or alternatively a young person under 20 years of age if in education, up-to an A Level equivalent. Some training courses will also still allow you to claim child tax credits for your child.
The amount of credit received is dependent on a combined family salary and personal circumstances, like interest on savings and property. However, even if you earn a gross salary of £40,000, you still have potential to claim.

Two types of payment exist: a family element, and a child element. A family element normally consists of a single payment of £545 as from the 6th of April 2011. A payment is made to each child of £2,555. For disabled children a credit of £2,880 is rewarded with an additional £1,130 for a severely disabled child.

Additional claimant information

• Adoptive parents and foster parents can also claim child tax credits.
• Only one household can claim if the child lives in two different locations,
• If you are a resident of an EEA working in the UK, and your child is in another EEA country, you may still have an entitlement to claim.

To find out if you are entitled for tax credit simply telephone the Tax Credit Helpline on 0845 300 3900 to check eligibility. Forms are only available by dialling his number. However the form is known as a TC600.

5 Exercises you can do at the Office

Hold this position for a few seconds ideally in the 3 – 10 second range. Then relax your muscles and repeat. The movement is only small, basically shrinking the size of your buttocks at the side.

Simple wrist stretches
Working at a computer desk daily can put your wrists at a huge risk for carpel tunnel syndrome or tendentious if you don’t exercise properly. To combat this potential injury, gently apply pressure to the back of the hand, enabling the fingers to point down towards the floor, stretching the top of the wrist. To exercise the muscles on the underside of the arm, just reverse the above process: Use the opposite hand to press against the finger tips so they point towards the ceiling.

Calf stretches
Stand in front of your desk or suitable table to start this exercise. Place your hands on the desk for support. Lift yourself up onto the balls (front area behind the toes) of your feet. Hold for 3 to 5 seconds, and then lower yourself back down to the floor. Repeat as sets of 10. This is great for toning your calf muscles.
